Wedding Style: The Mother of The Bride

Wedding Style: The Mother of The Bride

There is no doubt that it is the bride who feels the most pressure to look her best on her wedding day, which is why the bridal industry spends so many millions on marketing to her. But what of the mother of the bride?! Or of the groom for that matter?! Both play a vitally important role on the big day, meeting and greeting, and taking the plaudits for bringing up such fine human beings, so it only figures that mother of the bride dresses and coat should be given the upmost importance! Choosing wedding outfits for mothers can be a tricky task, since they need to convey style, taste, and authority. At Favourbrook, we've always had these ladies in our minds precisely because the rest of the industry hasn't. They require a level of sophistication, elegance, timelessness, and of course glamour, and a good deal of our dresses and summer coats have been designed with them in mind. Designed and handmade in England, our outfits for a special day are peerless.

Long Coats

Coats tend to be the real show stoppers at weddings and we have a number of styles that will be perfect for mothers of the bride or groom. Our Savoy and Windsor coats in silk Tasar are beautiful examples of modern minimalism, rendered in soft pastel tones such as peppermint, blush and corn yellow. Both styles feature a full pleated skirt for dynamic movement.

Another stunning option for mothers of the bride or groom is our perennial Westminster coat, which this season has been crafted in a number of striking different crease-resist linen iterations. This flattering, slim-line coat features a grown-on collar,  helping to create a sleek neckline. Contrast silk piping and a detailed hem, alongside fabric-covered button detailing make the Westminster style perfect for summer weddings.

Similarly, the Eton coat is one of our favourite smart summer silhouettes, as it features a very flattering cut. These have also been crafted using crease resist linen for a textural finish that stands up to the rigours of an all-day event. Mother off the bride outfits need to look as polished on the dance floor as they did in the church or registry!

Finally, for those ladies who like to make a statement, then our Carnaby coats are just the ticket. This season, we have created some confidently feminine full-length Carnaby styles in sumptuous silk, replete with bold and dynamic patterns.

Dresses

This season, we have a beautiful array of day-to-evening styles cut in a variety of luxury fabrics such as Shantung silk, silk chiffon, silk georgette, and silk douppion, all have which have been utilised in variety of silhouettes. Playful styles such as our Serena circle dress are ideal for summer weddings since they are cut from a lightweight barely-there silk georgette and boast a graceful movement in the skirt.

Our Josephine and Marie dresses are the perfect reception to party style, as the silk shantung fabric is sophisticated for daywear yet has plenty of glamour for the party in the evening. Both styles are cut in a flattering figure, creating a tall, svelte shape, and come in a number of colours.

For more casual summer weddings where the dress code is a little more flexible, we have three beautiful floral styles that are floaty, dynamic, and fun. The Grace, Serena and Poppy dress all share a flattering v-neck and three-quarter length sleeves, but each has its own distinct personality.

At Favourbrook, we understand how important it is to look and feel your very best on the most important days of your life, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like advice. The wedding days of one's children are truly momentous occasions in life and we want to ensure that the pride you feel for your daughter or son is only heightened by the confidence you feel in yourself!
