How to dress for the Royal Enclosure
There is little room for subjective interpretation when it comes to the dress code for the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot, but that's not to say you can't get it wrong. Here's how to stay comfortably within the guidelines while still standing out from the crowd.

Royal Ascot Lookbook
Favourbrook’s Royal Ascot collection campaign was shot this year at Kingsclere Stables, home of the revered and hugely successful trainer Andrew Balding who oversees the racing careers of over 200 horses, including several of the Queen’s horses. It also features the irrepressible ITV Racing host Oli Bell who will be wearing Favourbrook during the event.

Official Menswear Licensee
Due to an update in the Official Royal Enclosure Dress Code, Favourbrook marked a first for the prestigious event by creating the navy ‘Furlong’ morning suit, the first such navy morning suit permitted in the Royal Enclosure in the event’s history. The navy morning suit returns this year, alongside the more traditional black and charcoal morning coats to complement an array of formal trouser styles, together with new waistcoats, ties and pocket squares for the discerning racegoer.
The tradition of formalwear at Royal Ascot can be traced back to the influence of the notorious 19th-century dandy and confidante of the Prince Regent (the future King George IV), one Beau Brummell, whose statue stands a short walk from Favourbrook’s flagship store on London’s Pall Mall. Brummell famously decreed that ‘men of elegance’ should attend the race meet wearing ‘waisted black coats and white cravats with pantaloons,’ although Brummell’s own personal predilection was for a blue coat.
