Blue Cotton Velvet Dinner Jacket
Part of an exclusive capsule in collaboration with Eddie Sahakian of Davidoff of St James's: a dinner jacket designed specifically for the cigar smoker. The result is a modern take on eveningwear that feels both celebratory and rebellious.
Scarsdale Blue is a cotton velvet printed with an original floral, developed with an Italian mill, in subdued blue and aquamarine with the faded look of old indigo. Cut as a single-breasted dinner jacket with one button, it has black silk peak lapels cut wider than usual, at 10 cm, and silk-covered buttons. Inside, a pocket is sized for a cigar, and a pocket for the cutter is set inside the outside pocket. The lining carries the house bee. Made in Portugal.
Eddie, whose family has run Davidoff of St James's since his father, Edward, opened it in 1980, wanted something other than the classic shawl-collar smoking jacket, with the colour and sense of occasion Favourbrook is known for. Silk-faced lapels, in place of braid and frogging, make it a dinner jacket, though it was made with the cigar in mind. The same cloth is cut as a Nehru jacket and a single-breasted waistcoat.
