Formality
Just as in the Regency era, the ivory waistcoat was the preferred option for evening occasions as it was deemed the smartest and most sophisticated, hence why white-tie events are the most formal today. Thus an ivory waistcoat when paired with an off-white tie and pocket square makes up for one of the few times we would ever suggest matching that trio.
Morning suits
While the ivory waistcoat looks stunning against the stark contrast of a black morning coat, it is also equally well adapted with the other variants, those being navy and charcoal morning suits.
