Night Visions: Elegant Eveningwear

Night Visions: Elegant Eveningwear

From now until the end of the year, the evening events come thick and fast, each month offering new dates for the diary, from galas and awards to intimate dinners and festive evenings - all of which means one thing: a multitude of reasons to get dressed up in glamorous, fabulous attire. It just so happens that glamorous and fabulous is Favourbrook's modus operandi. From divine long-line velvet coats to chic velvet blazers and resplendent silk dresses, our AW24 collection has been created with a playful aesthetic perfect for those special evening occasions. So let us take you on a short journey through some of the key eveningwear pieces that we have singled out that will elevate your wardrobe and help to create graceful and seductive looks.

The Coats

Velvet and silk are the two fabrics that no eveningwear wardrobe can do without. With glossiness and tactility a common denominator, the former boasts a richness of texture and tone thanks to the dense velvet pile, while the latter shines with a dynamic quality that allows bold colours and intricate prints to come to the fore. If you prefer erring towards a dark and romantic colour palette then we suggest luxuriating in our velvet coats. Our Whitehall, Long Swing, and Eton coats are all beautiful examples of velvet craft: the Whitehall coats come wonderfully embellished with delicate embroidery rising from the hem and climbing up the body of the coats; the Long Swing coats are a full length style that create a tall and statuesque silhouette; while the Eton coats feature an at-the-knee finish in an array of stunning colours.

The Jackets

Our short jackets are a chic alternative to long coats, providing a less formal silhouette that is ideal for dinners with friends or more laid back occasions. Our Camden coat is one such style, featuring a Nehru-style collar and exquisite floral embroidery. You can also take a leaf out of the gents' book of black tie dressing by opting for a sophisticated and feminine ladies blazer. Popularised by Yves Saint Laurent and his iconic 'Le Smoking', the black blazer is a thing of perfectly formed elegance and modern femininity, cutting a sharp waisted figure. We have created three razor sharp versions this season, all of which are lovingly crafted in plush silk velvet. Black tailored trousers - whether wide-leg or tapered and cropped - are the perfect way to complement them. We also have created a beautiful array of waistcoats that perfectly complement our eveningwear blazers, not least a stunning Oyster tone style with sequin embellishments, which can be worn with matching lounge pants for a decadent evening ensemble.

The Dresses

One can approach an eveningwear dress one of two ways: adopt an elegant yet muted approach that shines a spotlight on the silhouette and details in the cut; or go for the wow factor by opting for big colours and bold patterns. Either option can look stunning in the right context, and this season we have created a number of dresses that will keep both camps extremely happy.

Of the latter, nothing says confidence more than our two Lulu dresses in delicious crepe de chine. This full-length style has been rendered in two eye-catching patterns, accentuating the svelte silhouette of the dress. Replete with feathered cuffs, the Lulu is a dress not easily forgotten. For a more understated approach, our crepe satin and silk dresses are timelessly elegant, with an array of styles featuring various neckline styles. Our Marie and Josephine dresses are versatile day-night options that come in many different colours and types of superior silk, whereas our long Serena dress in blue and our Poppy dress in burgundy silk satin are dedicated eveningwear styles with A-line skirts that offer a sense of movement and dynamism.
