Much merriment - champagne-fuelled or otherwise - was had at a splendid Royal Ascot this week, with some very dapper racegoers in Favourbrook colours romping home to victory in the style stakes! As the official menswear licensee for Royal Ascot, the event is naturally one of the most important in the calendar for us. Besides, being one of the most prestigious racing events of the year, it is also without doubt the most glamorous and an opportunity for race goers to dress up in their finery.
In the weeks, days and even hours before the start of each race day, our stores have been busy with fittings and outfit flourishes. On Wednesday afternoon, our Pall Mall store welcomed Robb Report editor-in-chief Paul Croughton as our team ensured he was Royal Enclosure ready for Friday's action.
Weeks earlier, British actor Regé-Jean Page met Favourbrook founder and owner Oliver Spencer at the store for a fitting and the hearts of many racegoers collectively skipped a beat at the sight of him in his Favourbrook morning suit. Since his breakout performance in Netflix’s hit period drama Bridgerton, Page has starred in The Gray Man before Dungeon and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and with other projects in the works, is a star to watch.
"I’ve got a nice horse called Rosallion running in the second race on the first day, his colours are yellow and black, so I’ve got a yellow waistcoat to show support," trainer Richard Hannon told us last month. As Richard cheered him on in matching yellow Gabardine wool double breasted waistcoat, Rosallion powered home to win the St James’s Palace Stakes.
Throughout the week we have seen some exceptional examples of gentleman wearing morning dress and a great many elegant ladies parading around the ground in Favourbrook creations. One such lady is Anna Lisa Balding who always seems to look splendid in every Favourbrook garment she tries on! This year she kicked off proceedings in a beautiful buttermilk yellow ensemble and ended the week matching the sky in blue.
Of course, if you've been watching the racing on ITV4, then you would have noticed that Oli Bell has been repping Favourbrook all week, as his father and "voice of racing"Rupert.
Thankfully, the weather held up for the most part, meaning that everyone could shine in their looks with little threat of rain. Royal Ascot in the sunshine is truly one of the most enjoyable sporting and social experiences. Huge thanks to everyone who enjoyed this year's event in Favourbrook clothing - you did us proud! Until next time!
