While a glorious summer wedding is an undeniably joyous occasion, there is something about the winter wedding that warms our hearts. Torrential rain and face-ripping winds cannot stymie the cosy indoor wedding, with its warm, atmospheric lighting, and rich dark tones. One might feel that as a groom or guest, one's wedding attire is somewhat more limited in the winter, and while there might be more than a morsel of truth in that, attending a wedding in the darker months still offers plenty of opportunities for sartorial flexing.
Winter Wedding Flex: the Cashmere Morning Coat
One such flex is a cashmere morning coat, the pinnacle of our formalwear collection, not least because of the softness of the handle, but also because the two colours we have created are also our most sustainable. That's because we use a beautiful recycled cashmere yarn to create these garments. They still have all the stunning characteristics of high-quality cashmere, only they have been spun from repurposed fibres.
For those who prefer a classic black style of morning coat, the Seaton cashmere wool version will be right up your sartorial street. It is as elegant as it gets, cut from recycled pure cashmere in a twill weave. With a silk trim finishing the lapels and covered buttons, it features a traditional jigger front closure and riding button. Finished with working cuffs, a buttonhole on the lapel, a breast pocket, and a secret pocket in the tail of the coat, we love to style it with our houndstooth trousers or the more traditional cashmere stripe trousers.
Alternatively, we have also used recycled cashmere in the creation of our Charcoal Shaftesbury morning coat. It boasts a beautifully soft handle and a very smart charcoal tone that can be paired with our grey Westminster stripe cavalry trousers or our black houndstooth trousers.
Whichever style you prefer, you can be assured that the cashmere fabric will keep your temperature perfectly regulated. It is a brilliant cloth for breathability and moisture-wicking, while also being warm, too.
