A Dream in Green

A Dream in Green

Green is one our favourite colours, not least for its diversity, spanning a vast spectrum of hues, each with a different personality, from the deep rich forest greens at one end, to the vibrant apple and acid green hues at the other. In the winter season, we naturally seem to gravitate towards the dark tones, with their subtle nuances, especially when played out in velvet and silk fabrics. Did you know that green is also the most visible colour to the human eye due to its wavelength?

In its darkest guise, green takes on the sophistication of black, while simultaneously offering playful accents of emerald. There is an inherent glamour about it, but it's understated, never brash, which is why we love it. This season we have produced a number of stunning garments which bring out the best in the colour and will elevate your wardrobe with style and grace.

While you can explore all of these pieces at the link here, we've handpicked three of our favourite green garments below to show you just how elegant and flattering this vibrant colour can be.

Camden Jacket Racing Green Plain Cotton Velvet

This elegant jacket is based on the classic Nehru shape and references classic military parade uniform by way of the gold button configurations. Made in London using Favourbrook signature silk velvet, it features a stand collar with working pockets and cuffs. What's brilliant about this green version of the Camden jacket is its ability to traverse both elegant daywear and sophisticated eveningwear. Paired with our olive green jumpsuit, it is an excellent layer for a smart lunch, while in the evening can transform a silk blouse or dress shirt with cigarette pants. The deep hue is very flattering on all skin types too, while the waisted cut creates a slim silhouette.

Westminster Coat Green Carwyn Silk Velvet

The Westminster coat is a perennial favourite at Favourbrook, crafted from a beautifully lightweight silk velvet. While it enjoys the dense pile of velvet, the silk fabric maintains an effortless lightness that allows for movement and fluidity. This Carwyn green is really quite something too, containing an almost electric vibrancy. The coat itself a features a grown-on collar creating a sleek neckline and a flattering silhouette. Stunning delicate embroidery creates a patterned hem, rising up the body towards the delicate three-button closure. It's a beautiful option for winter weddings and formal events, but also as an eveningwear layer for a lavish dinner party or night at the opera.

Serena Circle Dress Moss Plain Georgette

Some dresses just seem to be able to do anything you ask of them, and our Serena Circle dress is one such style. It's a classic scoop neck dress expertly cut from luxurious silk georgette, and comes in a soft moss green tone with a pale olive silk satin belt. Featuring a full circle skirt and three quarter length sheer sleeves, it has a wonderfully feminine and playful aesthetic that can be worn both day and night for an understatement and minimalist look.
