Friends of Favourbrook - Victoria and Federica

Victoria has been a long-time friend of Favourbrook Womenswear, helping to guide and elevate the brand to the stature that it enjoys today. A consummate PR professional, Victoria was once a key part of helping us to build the Favourbrook brand, and we wouldn't be where we are without her relentless energy and enviable contacts book! It was a pleasure to shoot her with her daughter Federica for our 'Friends of Favourbrook' series, and seeing how our womenswear collection transcends generations, proving that beautiful style is accessible to all ages, even the yoof!

Victoria, What would be your perfect New Year’s Eve party?

I would say it's friends coming over for a drinks party and then sitting together around a big dinner table and laughing and chatting the night away. Seeing the year in with loved ones is really special.

What cocktail would you serve?
Oh, good question! Well, it's all about pacing the evening isn't it, but I think I would have to start things off with a really nice Ruinart Blanc de Blancs.

And for supper?
I absolutely love cooking, so I’d push the boat out and do a couple of big Beef Wellingtons. They are so delicious and real showstoppers.

Would you get dressed up for the occasion?
Absolutely! Black tie for sure. Tuxedos for gents and total glamour for the ladies - formal dressing lends an occasion such style and gravitas.

What are you wearing today?
I’ve got on a Favourbrook oyster waistcoat with mini sequins and black silk Georgette trousers which are divine. I love this look, and it’s something I would definitely wear to an occasion like a New Year's Eve party. I have three favourite waistcoats, including a couple of velvet ones, and some of their summer versions that pair really nicely with white Georgette trousers.

How would you describe your everyday personal style?
I'd say it's classic, but with a sassy twist - something a little bit cheeky. For example, I love wearing the Favourbrook jackets but paired with jeans. It’s really fun to mix formal pieces with casual or high-street elements - you can really express yourself in the dichotomy.

How would you describe Federica's style?
Federica is quite quirky and loves a bit of vintage. She’s very independent and doesn’t follow the crowd. She actually wore one of Favourbrook’s long black velvet jackets to a party, with sparkly details and big black jeans, and it looked fantastic. She's really into 80s music so that informs a lot of her individuality at the moment.

It sounds like style is quite a family affair. Would you say you’re a family of non-conformists?
Probably! I’m an only child and I married an Italian surgeon, rather than an English farmer!  We’ve loved embracing different cultures - our wedding, for example, was held at a friend’s house in Kenya with an African choir and a missionary priest! It was so much more fun than the traditional English route.

Do you still love to travel?
We love to travel. We honeymooned in Manda Bay, just off Lamu in Kenya. It was so special. Experiencing new cultures, new landscapes, new people, it's such an important part of living a well-rounded life.
