Glorious Georgette

Glorious Georgette

What does the perfect summer dress look like? Well, we know what it should FEEL like... soft, dynamic, fluid, breezy, barely there. One of our favourite summer fabrics ticks all of those boxes. It's called silk georgette and it's a lightweight, breathable, crepe style fabric with a semi-sheer appearance and a matte finish. One of the many things that we love about Georgette is that it is textured and slightly coarse to the touch, woven using tightly twisted yarns in opposite directions which creates a crinkled, crepe-like effect.

This season, we have used this wonderful fabric to create a number of our Serena circle dresses, which are perfect for summer events. They feature an A-line full-circle pleated skirt which gives the dress its energy when you move, while having a delicately feminine top with an elegant scoop neck. The dress also features a satin belt and three-quarter-length sleeves for a playful look.

We've created it in a number of different hues, from the soft pastel tones you see here, to a black version which makes for a stunning summer version of the LBD. We have also created two different lengths of the Serena Circle dress in silk georgette - one at the knee and one below the knee, both elegant and feminine but with a slightly different attitude.

Whether you're dressing for a summer party or just want to add a playful look to your everyday wardrobe, the Serena dress is a great option. It also doubles up as a relaxed eveningwear dress when on holiday in warmer climes.
