Serenading the Serena Dress

Serenading the Serena Dress

As difficult as it is to pick a favourite dress among this Spring/Summer season's offering, suffice to say that the Serena Circle dress is the front runner. In fact, it's up for the award each and every season because this perennial style really has it all - delicate femininity, textural lightness and fluidity, classic sophistication and modern versatility. Now you can see why we love it!

The silhouette resembles a traditional A-frame dress albeit with a less exaggerated skirt shape, and features a broad scoop neck and three-quarter length sleeves and is finished with a concealed zip fastening. The notable feature is of course the delicate satin belt which helps to accentuate the skirt, creating a more flattering shape.

This season we have used a beautifully light and delicate silk georgette fabric to craft two lengths of the Serena dress, one slightly longer than the other. Both styles also feature sheer sleeves, which again helps to define a more flattering body shape. Pleats in the skirt also add a playful dynamic with movement.

We've cut the silk georgette style in a number of neutral tones to make the Serena dress easy to assimilate into any wardrobe, including glacier grey, black, midnight blue, moss green and blush. It's a dress that can be worn to a formal day event with a Favourbrook jacket, but at the same time its fluid nature and delicate structure means it can also be dressed down very easily with a casual jacket.

We've also used a stunning sand-washed crepe silk satin fabric in a beautiful blue hue for a longer Serena style that nicely complements a number of our pale blue silk coats for the season, as well as a vibrant floral style which has been crafted from silk chiffon, perfect for outdoor summer parties and weddings.
