Is It Even Summer Without A Linen Suit?

Is It Even Summer Without A Linen Suit?

The linen suit for summer is a menswear essential, the sartorial equivalent of strawberries and cream. Anyone who has attended events under the glare of an unforgiving sun knows that the linen suit is nothing short of a revelation. Woven from lightweight flax fibres that boast brilliant breathability, linen carries a texture that tells a story: subtle slubs, gentle creases, a lived-in elegance that no other fabric can mimic. For summer weddings, it's an absolute no brainer since it boasts that perfect balance of sartorial finesse and relaxed comfort. Plus, the natural propensity of the fabric to crease gives it a breezy insouciance that just adds to the coolness factor.

At the heart of our linen tailoring this season is the Ebury jacket, a beautiful one-button style with a deftly proportioned peak lapel and a natural fit through the waist. It features two slanted flap pockets at the front, reinforcing its slightly more casual aesthetic. Paired with our matching dress trousers, cut with a gradual taper and finished with side adjusters, the Ebury linen suit is truly a thing of summertime splendour and is extremely versatile too. Naturally, a shirt and tie make for excellent dance partners when the occasion calls for it, but equally the Ebury suit can be styled in a more casual way, say with a simple white t-shirt and sandals, evoking a more laid-back Mediterranean look.

This season, we have created the linen Ebury suit in a number of shades, those being olive, pink, ivory, sky blue, green, sage green, stone, oatmeal, and indigo, ensuring relaxed elegance whatever your preference of colour. The darker tones naturally lend themselves to slightly smarter events, whereas the pastel hues are fantastic for a more nonchalant aesthetic, paired with a linen shirt, polo, or simple tee perhaps. That being said, contrasting the relaxed nature of the linen suit with a bold shirt and tie can also be really effective.
