Fantastically Fun Summer Dresses

Fantastically Fun Summer Dresses

One of our favourite things about dressing for the summer is just how much more expressive one can be with dresses. Of course, it's fun to play with layering in the colder months, but summer is really all about single layer outfits, and especially bold and beautiful dresses! They complement the sunshine by lifting our collective moods and allowing us to have fun with colour and print, as well as feel so liberating thanks to lightweight soft and silky fabrics.

At Favourbrook this season, we have created a number of wonderful summer styles that really capture the essence of the season, replete with dynamic silhouettes and free-flowing fabrics. One such fabric that we absolutely love for daywear is silk devore chiffon, a wonderfully lightweight and fluid fabric that feels barely there against the skin.

We've used it to great feminine effect in our Serena Longer Circle dress, which features a loral pattern bursting with summer energy. The silhouette features a pleated skirt and three-quarter length sleeves with dainty ties. It's really versatile too - you can wear it with strappy heels and a bold hat for a summer wedding, or swap out the heels for sandals and a broad brim sun hat for your holiday.

The shorter version in Azure blue is equally as playful and resplendent, while also having a dressy enough character to carry you through into evening with the addition of some killer heels and a contrast clutch.  If your summer style leans more towards a minimalist aesthetic, then we have a number of Serena circle dresses in neutral understated tones such as midnight navy, black, grey, and moss green, all of which feature tonal chiffon sleeves for a very feminine aesthetic.

Another really playful summer style is the Bella dress, which this season comes in two bold iterations, one coming in silk devore chiffon, and the other in slinky silk satin. Both styles finish at the knee and feature intricate pattern details, with three-quarter frill sleeves adding a fun touch to the silhouette.
