The 60s were a melting pot of, well, just about everything. Tumultuous doesn't even begin to describe them, but most importantly they were a period of uncompromising self-expression, made manifest in the fashions and design of the time.
This writer was, sadly, not even close to knocking on the revolving door of existence in the 60s, but has however consumed enough archival Woodstock footage and Rolling Stones documentaries to be an honorary member, fully appreciative of the styles and clothing that shaped a decade. And so it feels only right that we have named one of our perennial coats after one of London's most famous and fashionable epicentres of that cultural surge - Carnaby Street.
Our Carnaby Coat is cut in a stunning long-line silhouette punctuated by a very delicate mandarin collar. The below-the-knee finish combined with the collar creates a very flattering and svelte shape. For the autumn/winter 23 season, we have created a number of very different Carnaby styles, incorporating silk satin, silk velvet, cotton velvet, an crepe de chine.

Let's meet the silk velvet styles first, characterised by a unique opulence in the fabric, and yet both very different from one another in the design. The Blue Rhydian style is a show-stopper, and features a unique Rorschach-inspired pattern for a bold and confident statement. With accents of gold, pink, and burgundy rising up from the hem, this coat has been designed with both daywear and eveningwear in mind. The Prune Dafydd silk style is much more understated, and features intricate embroidery embroidery throughout, and a scalloped hem, making it a very elegant option for eveningwear.

We have also created the Carnaby coat in two silk satin styles, both coming with very vibrant and ornate patterns designed to turn heads. Both work equally well as daywear options for formal events, but can also be styled to be excellent eveningwear layers.

For real eveningwear impact however, our two crepe de chine options are your trump card. The Black and Azure Parkhurst style is instantly recognisable for the geometric pattern skirting the hem, which supports a vibrant honeycomb motif just above it. That gives way to a delightfully playful floral motif and a golden griffon! Our Black Klimt style is certainly more understated, featuring gold embroidered poppies dancing up the coat from the scalloped hem. It is a beautiful style to pair with an LBD for a glamorous evening. The 60s would be proud.
