The new Westminster coat - elegance redefined

The new Westminster coat - elegance redefined

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," is a saying that could well be applied to a number of Favourbrook's perennial coats. Fashions ebb and flow, boom and bust, rise and collapse, but sophistication and elegance tend to stand the test of time. Our Westminster coat is one such garment that has remained true to form for many years and is the reason why so many of our customers keep returning to it. The combination of a slim-cut flattering silhouette, grown-on collar and delicate embroidery details is what gives the Westminster coat its timeless appeal.

While the silhouette is a constant, the details change from season to season as we accommodate new fabrics, inspirations, palettes and moods. The Spring/Summer collection is naturally brighter and bolder as the weather and light affords us more options with our colour palette, hence why this season's Westminster coat incarnations are imbued with a confident vibrance, whether that be in the tonality or the detailing.

Westminster Coat Khaki
Cow Parsley Crease-
Resist Linen

Take the Khaki Cow Parsley style which has been cut in a beautifully smooth crease-resistant linen. The perfect weight for summer engagements, the khaki tone is both delicate and muted, but the cow parsley embroidery introduces more glamorous elements of gold and pearl white.

Our Plum Fiddlehead style is altogether bolder thanks to that fantastically rich plum tone which acts as a confident canvas for the white and gold fiddlehead embroidery details.

Our Blue Johnson style is another crafted from crease-resistant linen and comes in a stunning cornflower blue tone that is so versatile and easy-to-wear. The delicate French embroidery features a dance of small, colourful flowers that rise from the hem before dispersing into the expanse of blue linen. It's a sophisticated option for events such as Royal Ascot, summer weddings or opulent garden parties!

Our Mint Jekyll style is a beautifully cool tone, contrasted with warmer nuances of pink, yellow and green. It works really well when worn with a tonal silk shift dress but will also look great with creams and pastel dresses. The crease-resistant linen guarantees it's perfectly lightweight for warm summer engagements while giving the cloth a subtle textural finish.

Elegance, femininity, and sophistication - those are the traits that inspired us to create these Westminster coats for Spring/Summer '22. With an eclectic palette and an abundance of crease-resistant linen to add lightness and subtle texture, we think they make for the perfect summer coats for important occasions, not least weddings. If you are unsure about sizing, please don't hesitate to get in touch, or better, come down to our Pall Mall store and try on the designs for yourself.
