A shawl thing

A shawl thing

Parents tell their children that they don't have a favourite, but that is a bare-faced lie (or perhaps I'm just a deplorable parent?!). Here at Favourbrook too, we adore all of our creations, from our morning coats to our pocket squares, but we reserve a special place in our affections for the double-breasted shawl collar waistcoat. While the classic single-breasted waistcoat is like the dependable sibling, the double-breasted shawl collar waistcoat is the charismatic trailblazer!

With that analogy quickly running out of road, I must then confirm in no uncertain terms that the shawl lapel waistcoat is the familial favourite! There, we said it! Brilliantly formal but with more than a dash of the debonnaire, there is something exquisite about the dimensions of those swooping lapels as they cross one another to perfectly frame one's collar and neckwear.

Of course, we didn't just chance upon this design. Peruse the market for such styles and we're very confident that you will not find an example as considered and finely constructed as a Favourbrook shawl lapel waistcoat. That's because we have evolved the design with great precision over the last two decades, resulting in a formal garment we like to think is pretty close to being perfect. Our lapels for instance, are reassuringly wide to accentuate the aforementioned 'swoop' and create a more flattering shape, providing a sophisticated layer beneath one's blazer or morning coat.

The buttons too, have been painstakingly placed in the most comfortable and flattering positions to the nearest nanometer, while the fob pockets are ideally proportioned, creating what we think is a stunning example of formal waistcoat tailoring, but of course we would say that.

The proof is naturally in the pudding, so we would heartily recommend a trip down to our Piccadilly Arcade waistcoats boutique to try the shawl lapel waistcoat for size. We have one of the largest collections in the world so make sure you give yourself enough time. We have styles that will suit morning dress, or styles that will be better deployed with dandy tailoring, or day-to-day styles to give your business suiting that something extra.
