Four showstopper silk coats for summer events

Four showstopper silk coats for summer events

Certain events call for understated elegance - those quietly confident outfits that flatter without shouting - but sometimes you want a garment to announce your arrival, to make heads turn and jaws drop. The trouble is, there's a fine line between making a statement and making a complete meal of it. Flamboyance is more of an attitude than a style, and going too over the top with your outfit can appear eccentric to the point of bonkers.

At Favourbrook this season we have created four showstopper coat that perfectly blend extravagance with elegance. Each constructed in the highest quality silk, they are bold coats with vibrant embroidered details. If you have a summer event lined up where you want to make a statement, then either of this quartet will do exactly that!

Collarless Duster Coat Aqua Tulipino Silk Satin

Duster coats were originally designed for horsemen to wear over their smart attire to protect their finery, but we've refined the classic silhouette and turned it into something far more sophisticated for smart summer events. Constructed from 100% silk satin, our full-length collarless duster coat features three-quarter length sleeves and has been decorated with the most magnificently ornate floral design. The tones in this style work exceptionally well with bold pinks and greens.

Collarless Duster Coat Blue Ortensia Silk Satin

Our second duster coat on our showstopper list, this version is more muted in its colour palette thanks to the soft metallic sky blue, but really comes alive thanks to the floral design which appears to float up the body from the hem. A perfect match with a navy jumpsuit or tonal blue dress. There's nothing quite like the long-line silhouette of the duster coat to make a statement.

Carnaby Coat Aqua Puccini Silk Satin

Instantly recognisable by the unique button configuration, Favourbrook's Carnaby coat creates a striking long-line silhouette, and that's before we even begin to talk about the stunning contemporary pattern! Featuring an array of deep rich aqua blues and greens, interspersed with geometric graphics, it is a beautiful expression of femininity and pairs well with ivory, green and light blue tones, as well as pastels.

Our final headturner is another Carnaby coat, this time constructed from a beautifully rich teal, purple and aqua palette with a classic long-line silhouette and grown-on collar. It's the perfect complement to a tonal dress or jumpsuit,as pictured, but will also provide a vibrant contrast with an ivory or cream summer dress.
