With the RHS delaying the Chelsea Flower Show this year (21-26th September), we thought it would be apt to shine a spotlight on our own new season blooms - those floral-inspired jackets and dresses that light up every room they step into. In the summer, floral designs naturally bring a sense of delicacy and femininity but they can also signify confidence and a certain gothic romanticism in the darker forms, which is why we love using them in Autumn/Winter collections, where the colour palette can be typically moodier and more mysterious, hence deep red roses set on canvases of rich moss green, or midnight blue tones used to juxtapose winter white floral motifs.
In short, there is always a great deal to be inspired by in nature, and any visit to the Chelsea Flower Show will undoubtedly spark a catalyst of creative ideas, not least in your wardrobe. This season at Favourbrook, we have created a number of new floral motifs throughout the collection, playing on an autumnal colour palette of rich greens, reds, ochre and balanced with cooler tones of blue.
WESTMINSTER COAT |
BELGRAVIA COAT GOLD |
WATERLOO JACKET |
In our velvet coat collection this season, we have a number of stunning floral designs that really bring out the best of velvet's rich, deep pile. One of our favourites is the Westminster coat in fig Sofia silk velvet (pictured above). This coat features a grown-on collar creating a sleek neckline, slim lines, and a flattering silhouette. The poppy embroidery naturally climbs up the coat to create a stunning effect.
LONG SWING COAT IVORY |
LONG SWING COAT |
VIRGINIA JACKET BLACK |
Another beautiful coat is this slim-line Swing coat in an elegant winter white tone with subtle floral embroidery in the skirt. It features a grown-on collar, creating a sleek neckline, and is a beautiful option for winter events (not weddings however!). It pairs well with white and off-white but also blush tones too.
PALAZZO PANTS BLACK |
VICTORIANA JACKET NAVY |
Of the darker floral motifs in the collection, we can't get enough of delicate embroidery scaling these stunning palazzo pants. The cool tonality of the white and blue plants climbing the black and blue tulle creates a wonderful look that can be worn day or night depending on how you style them. We love the textural juxtaposition of a dark velvet jacket for eveningwear but you could just as easily wear a floaty silk blouse or men's shirt during the day.
