New Summer Suiting

New Summer Suiting

Every great tailoring brand has a house block that perfectly distils its signature aesthetics. A classic Savile Row house block might feature structured shoulders, a suppressed waist, high armholes, and a certain drape. An Italian or Neapolitan house block could emphasise softer, unpadded shoulders, a more relaxed fit, and natural elegance. Our Newport house block is somewhere in between - less structure than a Savile Row style, but not quite as nonchalant as some Neapolitan styles can be. English, with a hint of European cosmopolitanism, you might say. Now, for our Spring/Summer 2026 collection, we introduce the Cooper suit as a complementary evolution, expanding our summer suiting repertoire with an even lighter, more breathable approach tailored for the season's warmth.

The Newport suit, with its slim-fit silhouette, stands as a testament to our tailoring ethos, prioritising versatility, yet always infused with a touch of sartorial flair. At its core, the Newport is a single-breasted jacket featuring peak lapels, slanted flap pockets, a welted breast pocket, and four-button working cuffs. Lined in our signature paisley pattern, it offers a structured yet comfortable fit, with lightly padded shoulders for a sharp profile. Made in Portugal by seasoned tailors, the suit prioritises breathability and durability, making it ideal for the discerning dresser. Over the years, it has evolved from classic wool iterations to more adventurous textures like corduroy and velvet, but its perennial appeal lies in its adaptability. We release fresh interpretations every season, ensuring it remains relevant in an ever-changing style landscape.

The new Cooper suit brings a fresh dimension to our collection, designed with an unlined construction for unparalleled lightness. While the Newport's peak lapels and lightly padded shoulders lend a more formal, structured edge, the Cooper features broad notch lapels and a softer, unpadded shoulder line, creating a more relaxed yet elegant silhouette. This makes the Cooper inherently more casual in feel, with a natural drape that echoes Italian influences but retains our British precision. Like the Newport, it's single-breasted with functional details such as flap pockets and working cuffs, but the absence of lining enhances its breathability, allowing fabrics to shine through in their purest form. Also crafted in Portugal, the Cooper emphasises texture and movement, making it a versatile choice for both suited ensembles and separates.

For the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, we have refined both the Newport and Cooper with an emphasis on lightness and optimism, drawing from understated neutrals and more confident pastels. Standout fabrics include premium linens, lightweight wools, and innovative wool-linen blends like herringbone, with colours ranging from light grey and soft beige to chocolate brown, dust pink, sage green, and French blue. The Newport's iterations lean into its structured heritage, with linens providing a crisp, tailored look that holds shape beautifully. Meanwhile, the Cooper's unlined design amplifies the natural qualities of these materials, resulting in suits that feel almost weightless on the body.

Styling the Newport for spring and summer is all about balance. Our light grey wool version is a beautiful option for work days, providing elegance and comfort in equal measure. For a wedding in the European countryside, opt for a linen version in pale blue or beige, layered with a double-breasted waistcoat in a contrasting pastel for added depth. A crisp white cotton shirt, perhaps with subtle stripes, and a silk tie in earthy tones complete the look, while braces ensure a polished finish. For more casual outings, break the suit into separates: team the jacket with cream chinos or even tapered jeans, adding a pocket square for personality. Bookend the Newport suit with lightweight loafers or derbies in suede, or if you want to dress it down even further, a pair of suede sandals.

The Cooper, with its breezier profile, invites even more playful styling. Pair the unlined jacket in sage green linen with matching trousers for a cohesive summer suit that's ideal for garden parties or al fresco dinners, where its breathability keeps you composed. For office settings with a modern twist, the French blue herringbone version offers subtle texture without overwhelming structure - layer it over a fine merino polo for a smart-casual vibe. Break it up for weekends: the Cooper jacket in pink linen styles effortlessly with white linen shorts or slim-fit chinos, accented by a linen pocket square. Footwear options mirror the Newport's, but the Cooper's relaxed fit pairs particularly well with espadrilles or minimalist trainers for a contemporary edge.

We have also used our Newport block throughout our eveningwear collection. Its flattering silhouette lends itself perfectly to refined dinner jackets, in particular our more avant-garde embellished styles that can be paired with black satin stripe dress trousers. Whether it's silk, velvet, linen, or wool, the Newport jacket never veers from looking anything other than exceptional.
