Velvet Loves A Disco Ball

Velvet Loves A Disco Ball

Event dressing this time of year usually means eveningwear, and when it comes to looking glamorous, two fabrics outshine all others - silk and velvet. We're going to focus in on the latter in this article, but much of our velvet is actually comprised of silk, so, two birds with one stone. Velvet's magic lies in its duality. By day, it exudes understated opulence; by night, it dances with light. The dense pile catches and diffuses light, creating a subtle sheen like no other fabric. Unlike glossy satins that scream for attention, velvet whispers sophistication, making it the ideal canvas for festive soirées. Whether under the warm amber of a candlelit dinner or the frenetic strobes of a New Year's Eve bash, it ensures glamour wherever you go.

For gentlemen, Favourbrook's velvet dinner jackets are the cornerstone of party wardrobe mastery. Cut from sumptuous velvet in deep hues like midnight navy, bottle green, or rich burgundy, these jackets feature peak lapels and a structured yet forgiving fit that skims the body. Pair one with black dress trousers with a satin stripe and a silk bow tie for a black-tie gala, but i's equally at home at an intimate cocktail soirée in a dimly lit bar.

Our Nehru jacket, inspired by Eastern tailoring but reimagined in opulent velvet, is the more relaxed option. The mandarin collar and clean buttoning lend an air of worldly intrigue. Opt for a jewel-toned emerald or sapphire to accentuate the jacket's clean lines. These pieces thrive at semi-formal affairs where tradition meets modernity, but they're not shy when it comes to impromptu kitchen discos either!

For a nod to heritage, the single-breasted smoking jacket is unrivalled. Favourbrook's iterations, replete with frogging details and quilted shawl collars, evoke the grandeur of 19th-century gentlemen's clubs. Wear it over tailored trousers and an open shirt to a a jazz lounge evening, or even better, if you're hosting in the comfort of your own party palace.

Womenswear: Elegant Layers of Luxe

Ladies, embrace velvet's embrace with our silk velvet coats, blazers, and waistcoats, pieces that layer allure and authority. The silk velvet Long Swing coat is a voluminous masterpiece for arriving in, flowing to mid-calf in shades of black and velvet. For velvet that sparkles, make a bee-line for our Whitehall coats, with a below-the-knee finish and embellished with delicate embroidery that catches and reflects the light beautifully.

Our tailored blazers, such as the Lounge jacket and the Library jacket, feature nipped waists, and bring a sharp sartorial silhouette to elegant parties. The sparkling embroidery work naturally demands the presence of a disco ball! They pair effortlessly with silk blouses and wide-leg palazzo trousers. The velvet waistcoat, a versatile hero, adds a sharp tailored edge to any pair of trousers, too.

In every thread, our velvet creations bring out the fun and glamour. This wonderful fabric is your luminous ally under lights.
