Home is where the haute is

Home is where the haute is

It looks like our opportunities for fun and socialising has hit the skids again, which means we might be at home even more than usual this autumn. But whether we're entertaining a few friends, or just whiling away the time with a good book and a bottle of something, there's no reason not to let our standards slip! Staying at home can be glamorous and comfortable with Favourbrook's new autumn collection, thanks to an array of stunning fabrics and flowing silhouettes that demand to be luxuriated in.

One of our favourite easy-to-wear pieces from the collection are our Black Plain Georgette Palazzo pants which are effortlessly elegant. It was in the 60s and 70s that the Palazzo pants trend really hit its stride, strutting out from the shadow of cuffed wide-leg trousers worn by likes of '40s actresses Katharine Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. Since then, they have remained a timeless fixture in the most sophisticated of wardrobes thanks to their fluid silhouette. We adore them for their sheer wearability, being able to be paired with blouson jackets, oversized knitwear, casual shirting, you name it.

Another brilliantly versatile piece for chic living around the house is the jumpsuit. Our version features a casual slim fit with three quarter length sleeves, and a defined V neck. With slim-line legs with side pockets and a concealed zip fastening, our jumpsuit is perfectly relaxed for entertaining during the day but can equally by styled up with a velvet dinner jacket for a sophisticated evening look with friends.

Speaking of velvet, does a more reassuringly comfortable and luxurious fabric exist? While most think of it as quite a formal fabric, it has endless potential when worn casually too. We especially like mixing our velvet coats with jeans for example. Our velvet swing coat works especially well in a casual look, as do our velvet Nehru jackets which feel very warm and luxurious and not at all out of place around the house on a lazy Sunday afternoon!
