The Key Fabrics For AW26

At Favourbrook, a new season always begins with the cloth. For Autumn/Winter '26, our womenswear collection brings together sumptuous velvets, fluid silks and ornate surface detail, each one chosen to bring richness and drama to the colder months. Here is your guide to the fabrics that define the season.

Silk Velvet

The centrepiece of AW26 is our signature silk velvet, a rich and tactile blend of silk and rayon cut and made in London. It appears in a jewel-box palette of fox brown, prune, Turk blue, olive and emerald, lending depth to our most-loved silhouettes. The Westminster, Whitehall and Eton coats are cut in it for eveningwear with presence, while the Camden and Swing jackets bring the same richness to shorter, easier shapes. For extra sparkle, the Chandos Swing Jacket has a glitter finish, and the Buckingham Long Swing Coat is set with jewel embellishments.

The Silks

Beneath the tailoring, silk plays a supporting role across a range of textures. Silk douppion, with its subtle slub and iridescent sheen, shapes the Marie and Josephine dresses and our Dior-inspired cigarette trousers. Italian-woven silk shantung gives the Antique Rose Josephine dress its gentle structure, while floaty silk georgette brings movement to the Serena Circle dress and palazzo pants. Elsewhere, silk crepe satin drapes beautifully on bias-cut camisoles and the Hay Gold Land Girl trouser, and silk devoré chiffon adds sheer, sculpted pattern to the new Millie Panel dress.

Brocade and Jacquard

For maximum impact, our brocades bring woven ornament to the fore. The Hogarth Swing Coat is cut from an Italian jacquard in black and azure, finished with faux ostrich feather trims, while the red and gold Barnwell brocade appears as both a waistcoat and cigarette trousers, a striking eveningwear two-piece. Our famous bee jacquard, woven in England especially for Favourbrook, returns on the single-breasted waistcoat.

French Embroidery

Perhaps the defining detail of the season is French embroidery. Baroque motifs climb from the hem of the Westminster coat, delicate florals rise from the scalloped edge of the Eton, and geometric patterns cover the Melford Swing Jacket. The same craft appears on silk organza, silk satin and even wool, making each piece a work of craftsmanship to treasure for seasons to come.
